3.9-Magnitude Earthquake Rattles Jamaica

A 3.9-magnitude earthquake struck near Kingston on Sunday morning, shaking several parishes but causing no reported damage or injuries. The University of the West Indies’ Earthquake Unit reported that the shallow tremor’s epicenter was located about 5 kilometers (3 miles) northeast of Golden Spring at a depth of 12 kilometers (7 miles).
The quake was felt widely across Kingston, St. Andrew, and St. Catherine, though officials caution that initial seismic data remain preliminary.
